Plan For Pre-Production Submission

It is important to not lose track of what I need to be doing, what needs to be done for submission etc. It is much too easy to go off on research and inspiration tangents.

Here is a list of what I plan to have done for the end of this pre-production project:

  • Synopsis
  • All research done!!
  • Backstory (history of characters/places/events etc)
  • Storyline in detail
  • Create a world map
  • Create a timeline for production with milestones and enough time left for book compilation, printing and binding
  • Research of typography and book layout
  • List of everything to be designed in the production period
  • Colour palette
  • Create an example of 1 character (figure drawing, expression drawings, painted)
  • Create an example of some piece of industry (weapon?)
  • Give the game a title
  • Get all reference material (Poser program, photographs, art etc)
Here is a more detail breakdown of some of the above points:

BACKSTORY:
  • The vikings settle in North America
  • The merging of the vikings and Native Americans
  • Scandinavia and Ragnarök
  • Brief European history (power, dominance, design, resources, industrialisation etc)
  • Enemy country history
  • Balder in the Underworld (myth)
  • The enemy colonisation of North America, motives etc
TIMELINE:
  • Aim for 80-100 pages
  • Leave 1 week for the compiling of material and text
  • Leave 1 week for printing
  • Leave 1 week for binding
  • Plan for work in Prato (Digital Imaging Studio)
  • Plan week by week - e.g. one category designed (drawings, paintings etc) done per week - Balder = week 1, Ingrid = week 2, weapons = week 3, buildings = week 4 etc.

  • Tribe village - no distinction between rich and poor, everything is shared. Live in Longhouses with outhouses and proper sanitation implemented

  • Longtrain/ railway system
