Rough Cut - scenes

After spending a LOT of time creating the textures and graphics, I made my rough cut. Here are the scenes from it. The rough cut will be posted in my next blog.

Scene 1

The camera will zoom into the tire before fading out. I had originally wanted to zoom straight into the window on scene 2 from this scene but that raised too many issues - the cat would have to be in this scene too, which means creating a full bodied cat, and the quality of the images might be compromised if I zoom into one graphic too much.

Scene 2

The window is a square layer with a yellow/brown tint and low opacity, so that when I zoom through the window to the kids, the colours change.

scene 3

The kids in front of the TV. They will be making the same movements over and over again and the TV will flicker.

scene 4

The camera will then go to a closeup of the girl scratching her arm. The teen should be OUT of the shot here I think, otherwise his typing fingers will take attention away from the girl.

scene 5

Closeup of the Teen character. Again, the other kids will be out of shot here so that all attention is on the teen.

scene 6

Closeup of the boy. Again, the teen will be out of view here.

scene 6.2

The next shot will be from the boy's perspective, changing the TV channel with a TV remote.

scene 7

Next shot - one of the characters getting pills out of a pill bottle.

scene 7.2

Closeup of female character eating a pill. I don't want the viewer to see her eyes here yet - their white blankness should come as a shock at the end of the animation.

Some of these scenes will be repeated.

scene 8

At the end of a minute, the camera will show a wide shot of all three characters eating pills and posters in the background. The poster on the left will be changed into a poster saying "Blank Generation"

scene 9

Camera will then zoom past the kids and onto the alien poster before fading out. The soundtrack will simply by this stage be loud static/buzz noise which will continue a while after the scene has faded out.
